“Sparrows North” Luxury Family-Friendly Self-Catering Accommodation in Buxton

Recently, we were incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to stay at the stunning Sparrows North in the beautiful town of Buxton. It was an absolute treat from beginning to end. If you are looking for luxury self-catering accommodation in Buxton for the whole family to enjoy then you really need to look no further than Sparrows North!

N.B. We were guests of “Rural Retreats” for this stay.

The historic spa-town of Buxton in Derbyshire is often described as the “gateway” to the Peak District National Park. It is the highest market-town in England and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Sparrows North is about a ten minute walk from the centre of the town and has recently been renovated by the current owners to a very high standard. They have cleverly mixed period charm with modern luxury: retaining many of the original features of the property, such as the beautiful fireplaces and sash windows, but including up-to-date features such as underfloor heating, wi-fi, bluetooth speakers and even a Tesla electric car charging point.

The Master Bedroom

The property, set over three storeys, sleeps eight across four bedrooms: one with a king size zip and link bed (which can be configured to two smaller twin beds) and three with super king size zip and link beds (which can also be configured to two standard twin beds). There is also a travel-cot provided, if required. There are three well-appointed bath/shower rooms, a large boot room for all your muddy boots (which also has dog beds for up to 2 well-behaved dogs and lots of room to rub down the muddy dogs…and kids…after a long walk), a utility room with a washing machine, and a lovely enclosed garden with garden furniture.

The kitchen/dining room at Sparrows North is such a wonderful space for the family to come together. It is excellently appointed with a Range Master Cooker (with gas hobs and double electric oven), fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and every kitchen implement you could possibly require! There is a large dining table which comfortably seats 8, and a high-chair is provided. We spent a lot of time in this space; playing games, chatting, eating, and enjoying a glass of wine (or two!) once the children had gone to bed.

The Drawing Room

There are two living rooms at Sparrows North. The first is a beautiful Drawing Room, with gorgeous furniture and beautiful views from the large windows across the town to the breathtaking Derbyshire Peaks. The second is described as the Family Room, which the children absolutely loved. There is a very large sofa upon which they chilled out, watching DVDs and playing games.

Every detail has been thought of in this beautiful house and you really are in for a treat from the moment you pull onto the drive. From the White Company toiletries in the bathrooms (to match the White Company bedding and towels) and the amazing hamper which greeted us when we entered the kitchen (filled with a large selection of treats and essentials from the Peak District Deli) to the large selection of family games and the extensive collection of DVDs in the Family Room…it is clear that so much thought and care has been put in to ensuring that your stay is absolutely perfect in every way!

We highly recommend the fabulous Sparrows North for luxury family-friendly self-catering accommodation in Buxton. Head over to the Rural Retreats Website for more information.
