Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at Bridgemere Garden Centre

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at Bridgemere Garden Centre (Wyevale)

We absolutely love visiting Bridgemere Garden Centre. As well as the main garden centre (selling plants, garden furniture and accessories, gifts etc) there are loads of concessions too (including Lakeland, Fat Face, Hobbycraft, Pets Corner, Ripples Waterlife, WH Smith and Cotswold Outdoor…to name but a few). There’s also a great farm food shop, with a butchers and a deli, and an outdoor fruit and veg stall. The show-gardens are lovely to explore and there’s an outdoor play area too, as well as a dinosaur themed mini-golf area.

Bridgemere has lovely restaurant with yummy hot and cold food, and another smaller cafe with a super little soft-play area – perfect for “Mummy meet-ups” (and “Daddy meet-ups” too!)

Wyevale always host events for children in the school holidays as part of their “Little Diggers” club. We have visited Santa at Christmas (which was fabulous!) and attended for a craft activity, when the children had fun painting garden gnomes, but we have never visited at Easter time so this was a new experience for us and one we can highly recommend! Scroll down to find out what we thought.

We arrived at the Garden Restaurant where the very welcoming staff showed us to our table. The children were each given an activity sheet to complete whilst we waited for the other guests to arrive. There was unlimited juice for the children and coffee and a selection of teas for the adults to help themselves. The children were then served a yummy Full English breakfast ( Pork sausage, scrambled egg, baked beans, hash brown & toast or Glamorgan leek & cheese sausage, scrambled egg, baked beans, hash brown & toast for vegetarians) and the adults enjoyed a mini breakfast too (Croissant with strawberry jam and butter, bacon sandwich or sausage sandwich).

After our lovely breakfast (which Little Miss P wolfed down within seconds!) we were taken on an Easter trail around the garden centre which the children loved! They had to find various eggs on the walls and once they’d found each one they were rewarded with a sticker and a chocolate treat. The staff-member who led the trail, Jade, was fabulous with the children and made sure that they were all included and had lots of fun.

After the Easter trail came the main event…meeting the Easter Bunny! We returned to the restaurant to find him sitting in his beautifully decorated Easter-themed pergola. The children were incredibly excited to see him! We returned to our seats and the Easter Bunny came round to meet each child individually, gave them each a soft toy to take home and posed for photos. During this time the children all had a chocolate bunny/chick to decorate with icing and sweet treats to keep them occupied whilst waiting for their turn with the Easter Bunny.

This really was such a super experience. It was well thought out and lots of fun. It is also extremely good value and a really lovely way to spend a morning over the Easter holidays. Bridgemere are also offering the opportunity to have “Tea with the Easter Bunny” too which is the same experience but obviously in the afternoon instead! My Little Miss and I highly recommend a visit to Bridgemere this Easter break.
