CLAY FACES TREE SCULPTURES

AN EASY OUTDOOR CRAFT FOR KIDS (and adults too!)

My Just So Festival review will come later (when I have a bit more time!) but I just thought I’d share this fabulous outdoor nature craft activity for kids that we took part in whilst we were there – making clay face sculptures on trees with natural materials.

All you need is a piece of clay and a forest, wood or garden and you will have all the materials you need – sticks, fir cones, moss, pine needles, leaves and even soil! Then you just have to let your imagination run wild.

Clay is fabulous for sensory play and it sticks really well to the trees. You can use it as a base for the natural materials or you can create eyes, noses, mouths etc from the clay and stick directly to the tree.

Little Miss and her friend spent ages in the Spellbound Forest creating faces and I loved taking part in the activity too! This is definitely an outdoor craft that we will be recreating at home!
