Some of you may think it’s early to be talking about Christmas…but certainly not in our household! Ever since I was a child, the magic that Christmas brings has always been the highlight of my year, and I intend to pass on this magic to my children, creating wonderful memories for them to cherish forever.
In my opinion, the festive season hasn’t truly begun until you’ve watched The Snowman. (Although I must admit, my children had the DVD on in August this year!!) But what could be more magical than watching the iconic and beloved film accompanied by a live orchestra, drawn from some of the top musicians in the country, many of whom are members of such orchestras as The Hallé and the BBC Philharmonic, as part of The Snowman Tour? Not much can beat that for getting you into the Christmas spirit!
To add to the wonder, each performance features a young soloist local to the area, singing Walking in the Air, the quintessential Christmas song at the heart of The Snowman. As a Drama teacher I’ve already urged some of my students to audition and more details can be found here.
We are so lucky to have been invited along to The Victoria Hall in Stoke on Trent on December 17th this year to experience this amazing event and I truly cannot wait! From 3rd-29th December they are visiting 16 venues across the country, including seven cathedrals.
Some venues are also in for an extra treat with a second animation being shown: either a world exclusive of A Donkey’s Tale by Daniel Whibley (a heart-warming story of Dillon the Donkey, an ordinary donkey with an extraordinary dream that takes him on a journey that will change his life) or The Bear and the Piano, based on the award-winning book by David Litchfield with narration recorded by Joanna Lumley.
Tickets for some dates/venues have ALREADY sold out so you need to book your tickets fast by visiting the Carrot Productions website. Don’t miss out on this memorable experience, which I am sure is going to become an essential part of our festive preparations for many years to come!
