Autumn “Harry Potter” Nature Craft for Kids

Only a very short post but hopefully one that will ignite those creative sparks as the nights are drawing in!

How To Make a Golden Snitch

I would love to claim this idea as my own but it is all my son’s creation! And I must say, I’m very proud of his imagination! He came home from school clutching 2 Sycamore tree seeds (the ones nicknamed “helicopter seeds” due to the way they spin off the trees) and the first thing he said was, “Mummy, can I have some gold nail varnish and some blu-tack – I’m going to make the Golden Snitch from Harry Potter!” And (with just a little help) here’s what he did:

  • Create a small ball with the blu-tack and gently push your seeds into either side.
  • Stick a cocktail stick into the blu-tack so that you can hold that whilst painting your snitch.
  • Using gold nail varnish, paint your snitch and leave to dry.

What a fabulous idea and a great Autumn craft for all those little Harry Potter lovers!

Pin for later:
